Good day, how are you? I got up today at midday, cos I got back from the airport at midnight-ish and got to bed around 2. So I slept lots today, and went shopping after that. Christmas shopping.
Speaking of the airport, I had never flown into Hobart airport until last night. I can't remember if Burnie airport is the same, but oh my gosh, Hobart airport is so weird. The luggage doesn't come in on the conveyor belt, but it just gets driven up in the truck and you walk up and pick it up off the back of the trailer! It's so primitive!
It was funny, cos Hobart is so small that when we flew in, you could see only a small amount of lights below, you could hardly tell it was there!
Well I spent the last week at NTE, National Training Event. The first half was training, where I learnt stacks, but didn't greatly enjoy. The Hobart team already knew each other so well, and it's always hard entering a group that's already so fully bonded! But my roommates were cool. From Newcastle and Adelaide.
The second half was mission, in a smally, bushy suburb of Canberra. Hobart teamed up with a small team from Sydney, and it was excellent. This part was fun mainly cos they were such good people, I loved them all! Gonna miss them. And oh my gosh, it was challenging. So good to have done it.
So all in all, NTE only became fun about half way through it. But even aside from the fun part, the second half, I still would've summed it up as worthwhile, cos I learned masses of stuff, and did things I would never normally do otherwise. Kinda good to get home though, cos it was lotsa work.
I talked to Ditte, my Danish friend, for the first time tonight. For about 10 seconds! Then I talked to her dad for a while. They have perfect english so that was good. I'm going to meet Ditte's parents in January, so we just sort of arranged that. Her mum is Vibeke, I don't know how to pronounce that. Ah well!
Ok I better go, I'm over typing.
Ta ta!
